The FIA-FSP funds research focused on priorities identified by clients and aligned with MFR research priorities.
As part of the revised FIA-FSP strategic plan, funding priorities for the 2010 - 2015 period are currently being determined and will be provided here once they are established.
Annual Priorities
Annual funding priorities for the FIA-FSP research program are developed based on guidance from the FIA-FSP strategic plan, with input from the CF-FSAC and the CTAC, the MFR Internal Advisory Group, and the broader client base through FORREX's working groups and Regional Steering Committees. Yearly input ensures that the research program is responsive to emerging issues and management priorities. Research priorities provide direction to the annual research Call for Proposals.
Projects Funded
Due to budget reductions, no new research projects were initiated in 2009/10. Funding was provided at slightly reduced levels for continuing multi-year projects initiated under the FIA-FSP in 2008/09. This section lists the projects supported in 2009/10, organized according to projects related to the sustainability and forest growth and value streams.
